Introduction to editing and deleting

Edit a walk record

Editing a walk record entails examining the text, photos, and audio files within each observation. Photos and audio files can be deleted or moved to another observation for minor restructuring. Observations themselves can be deleted (including any associated files), although they cannot be moved because they are embedded in a time sequence that can’t be changed.

  1. Select the record.
  2. Select Edit observations.
  3. Select an observation.
  4. If necessary, edit the title and/or description. Click on the image for possible editing.
  5. An image title can be added. This is usually not needed, as the observation title is generally sufficient. The image may be rotated using a rotation icon in the lower left corner. The gear menu allows the image to be deleted or moved to another observation. If the image is deleted it is moved to the trash location for the observation, from which it can be either restored or permanently deleted. The left and right arrows will move from one image to another across observations, making it easier to scan and edit all images within a walk record.

  6. Either restore the observation or permanently delete it.

  7. Selecting Delete will give you another chance to cancel deletion. Restore will immediately begin to recreate it.
  8. If you selected Restore, a dialog box will appear when it’s finished. Pressing the OK button will return you to the walk screen if there are no other records remaining in the Trash.
